"Tao Li Tao Qi " Porcelain Art Festival

IN WUHAN | MAY 31 – JUN 2 25

In a unique seasonal crossover of Dragon Boat Festival and Children’s Day, oneroom and HMB Hummingbird Creative joined forces to curate a 3-day immersive ceramics-themed cultural event: "Tao Li Tao Qi " Porcelain Art Festival, held at the historic Pinghefang Cultural District in Wuhan.

✦ Ceramics as Time You Can Touch

We believe ceramics aren’t just museum pieces—they’re a philosophy of time made tangible. Guided by this belief, we invited ceramic artist and curator Zhang Yue, known for the exhibition Daily Observations: Ceramics as Cultural Memory, to bring together artistry and everyday life.

The event gathered 40+ top ceramic studios from across China, from the delicate morning dew of Jingdezhen to the meditative aesthetics of Kyoto, blending heritage craftsmanship with the sensory warmth of Wuhan’s Dragon Boat Festival.

✦ A Living Festival for Families and Future Creators

Over 500 families joined us in co-creating with clay, not only celebrating tradition but also shaping it—literally. Children and parents worked side by side, crafting over 700 one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces, each bearing the marks of exploration, imagination, and imperfection that make art alive.

More than 1,800 moments of parent-child collaboration turned this market into a vibrant workshop of emotional connection and creative expression.

“I didn’t expect to be moved by the feel of clay.” A recurring reaction from participating parents

✦ Celebrating Through Experience

This event reframed the meaning of both festivals—not through rituals alone, but through experience, making, and interaction. “Tao Li Tao Qi” Porcelain Art Festival brought together traditional craftsmanship and contemporary family life, reimagining holidays as opportunities for aesthetic learning and shared growth.
